No obligation. No pressure. Just a real conversation.
Hey. I’m Jay.
And I’m going to do something most website builders don’t—actually learn your business before I touch a single page.
Your goals. Your clients. What makes you different from the competition down the street. That’s what shapes every decision—the layout, the words, the flow. The result isn’t just a good looking site. It’s a site that works, because it was built for you, not just built fast.
That said—it is built fast. In as little as one day, for $1000. No endless back-and-forth. No surprise fees. No “we’ll circle back” emails.
Let’s start with a 15-minute call. I’ll listen more than I talk. And if it’s not a fit, no hard feelings—I’ll tell you honestly.
Here’s EXACTLY what working with Jay looks like.
We Learn Your Business
Before a single page gets built, we talk. I want to know your goals, your clients, what makes you different, and what success looks like for you.
You'll leave with a simple checklist—no essays required. I'll leave with everything I need to build something that actually fits.
We Build It
While you get back to running your business, I build. One focused sprint—clean, professional, mobile-ready. No waiting weeks. No buried revision rounds.
By the end of the day, you'll have something real to look at.
It's Yours
We walk through it together. I show you how to make simple updates yourself, hand over everything you need, and hit publish.
Your new site is live—built for your business, and ready to grow with you.
Don’t Take My Word For It.
Here’s what happens when a website is actually built for your business.
TRUSTED BY LOCAL LEGENDS IN OSHAWA & BEYOND • REAL BUSINESSES. REAL RELATIONSHIPS. REAL RESULTS.
I was honestly surprised by how much Jay took the time to understand my practice before building anything. It didn't feel like a template — it felt like my business. We started getting inquiries through the site almost immediately. I couldn't believe how painless the whole thing was.
Launching a business is stressful enough. Getting my website built so quickly was a huge weight off my shoulders. It looked amazing and I was able to start marketing my services immediately.
I'd been putting off a redesign for years because I assumed it would be a long, painful process. Jay asked the right questions upfront, understood what we actually needed, and delivered something that looked and felt like us — not like every other site out there. Fast, professional, and exactly what we were looking for.
Good Questions. Honest Answers.
Everything you’re wondering about — answered straight.
A clean, professional, mobile-ready website — typically 3–4 pages — built around your business, your brand, and your goals. Domain registration and your first year of hosting are included. One number. No surprises. But here's what actually makes it worth $1000: before I touch a single page, I learn your business. Every decision — what goes where, what leads, what the visitor sees first — is made with your specific goals in mind. Your content doesn't just get placed. It gets placed strategically, because a site that's structured wrong doesn't convert.
And a site that converts is the whole point.
From first call to live site, most projects wrap up within a week. The build itself happens in one focused day — but we factor in a bit of time for our kick-off conversation and checklist, and a bit after for your review and any final tweaks.
No six-month sagas. No "we'll circle back in Q3."
No problem — that's just a different conversation. Online booking, e-commerce, membership areas, custom integrations - I've built all of it. These projects take a little longer and cost a bit more, but the process is the same: we talk first, I scope it honestly, and you get a clear price before anything starts.
No surprises.
Absolutely. Writing is actually half of what I do — I run a full communications and copywriting practice alongside 1 Day Websites. (Visit Fearon Communications to learn more about that!) If you need help finding the words, that's an add-on we can build into your project.
Good copy and a good website together? That's when things really start to work.
Honestly? We just talk. I'll ask a few questions about your business, what you're looking for, and what's been stopping you from getting a website up until now. You can ask me anything too. There's no pitch, no pressure, and no obligation. If it feels like a fit, we'll talk next steps. If it doesn't, I'll tell you honestly — and if I know someone better suited to help you, I'll point you there.
Either way, you'll leave the call with more clarity than you came in with.
Not as much as you'd think. After our kick-off call, I'll send you a simple checklist — things like your logo, any brand colours, photos if you have them, and a rough idea of what you want each page to say. No essays, no design briefs, no agency-style homework packages. If you're missing pieces — no great photos, not sure about colours — we'll figure that out together. I've worked with clients who handed me almost nothing and still ended up with something they loved.
Then you're in exactly the right place. Most of my best projects started with a client who said "I just know I need something better than what I have" — or nothing at all. That's what the kick-off conversation is for. I ask the right questions, you answer honestly, and by the end of it we both know what the site needs to be. You don't need to know anything about design or websites. That part is my job.
As much as you want. Some clients are very hands-on and want to weigh in on every decision. Others say "just make it great" and trust the process. Both work fine.
What doesn't work is endless revision rounds that drag a project out for months — so we get aligned upfront, which means by the time you see the site, it already feels like yours. Most clients are surprised by how little back-and-forth is actually needed.
Yes and yes — and neither is an afterthought. Every site I build looks and works great on phones and tablets right out of the gate. No pinching, no squinting, no broken layouts. On the SEO side, I set up the basics that actually matter for a small business: page titles, descriptions, image tags, and clean site structure. I won't promise you page one of Google overnight — and anyone who does is lying — but you'll have a solid foundation to build on.
I build primarily on Squarespace — and deliberately so. It's powerful enough to grow with your business, beautiful enough to look custom, and simple enough that you can make updates yourself without calling me every time you need to change your hours. I'm a Squarespace Circle member, which means I've built enough sites on the platform that they've officially recognized the work. That said — if your project calls for something different, I'll tell you honestly and we'll find the right tool for the job.
Domain registration and hosting are included in the $1000 — it's all part of the all-in package. Professional email (like yourname@yourbusiness.com) is a separate cost through Google Workspace or similar, but I'll walk you through getting it set up. It's one of those things that sounds technical but takes about ten minutes with the right guidance.
Completely and without question. The site is yours — the content, the design, the domain, all of it. I hand over every login, every credential, and every asset the moment we launch. Some web agencies retain ownership or make it difficult to leave. That's not how I work. You should never feel trapped by the person who built your website.
Honestly? It hasn't happened yet — and I don't think that's luck. Because we spend real time upfront understanding your business, your goals, and what success looks like to you, the site you see at the end of the build day already reflects all of that. There are no big surprises because we don't leave room for them. That said, if something isn't right, we fix it. Simple as that. I'm not done until you're genuinely happy with what we've built together.
Yes. I'd rather be upfront about it than have it catch you off guard. Your domain and Squarespace hosting subscription renew annually. Rather than leaving that for you to manage yourself, I offer an annual plan for $XXX that covers both renewals plus a check-in to make sure your site is still working as hard as it should be. One flat fee, everything handled. If you'd prefer to manage renewals yourself, I'll make sure you have everything you need to do that independently — no hard feelings either way.
Yes — and honestly, the relationship doesn't have to end at launch. Before we wrap up, I walk you through how to make updates yourself — most clients are surprised by how straightforward it is. But if you'd rather hand that off, or something comes up that's beyond a simple tweak, I'm always available. Because I built your site, I already know it inside and out — no explaining everything from scratch to someone new.
Me. Jay. That's it. There's no team of developers behind the curtain, no work getting farmed out, no junior designer handling your project while I'm on a call with someone else. When you book with 1 Day Websites, you get my full attention from the first conversation to the final handover. For a lot of clients, that's actually the point — one person who knows your business, makes every decision with your goals in mind, and is accountable for the result from start to finish.
Mostly small businesses, non-profits, and local service providers — the speech-language pathologist who needs to look as professional as they actually are, the consultant whose website doesn't reflect the quality of their work, the new business owner who just needs to get online without it becoming a whole thing. If you're a small business owner in Durham or beyond who's been putting off your website, you're probably exactly who I built 1 Day Websites for. If you're not sure whether you're a fit, just book the call. Worst case, I'll point you in the right direction.
You could build it yourself. Squarespace and similar platforms are genuinely pretty good. If you have the time, the eye for design, and the patience to figure it out — maybe you should. But most small business owners who try it end up with something that looks like they built it themselves. Not because they're not smart or capable — but because you're an expert in your business, not in building websites that convert. Knowing what to put where, how to structure the flow, what a first-time visitor needs to see and in what order — that's a strategic skill that takes years to develop. And it's exactly what you're paying for.
YOUR BUSINESS DESERVES A WEBSITE THAT WORKS AS HARD AS YOU DO.
Let’s build it. One conversation, one focused day, and you could be live by this time next week.
No obligation. No pressure. Just a real conversation about your business.
